Letters Oo and Pp

We had another great week of homeschool. We always have our homeschool time right after breakfast. This week I added some homeschool time in the afternoon. We still did all our normal activities in the morning, but then in the afternoon I gave Caleb and Elisabeth activities that they could do independently. The kids really enjoyed drawing, math manipulatives, scissor practice, blocks, and puzzles. Caleb and Elisabeth loved it and we really got so much more accomplished during the week.

In our music unit we learned about the bass, viola, and cello. Caleb and Elisabeth colored a picture of each instrument and we watched and listened to each instrument being played.

Open House

Last week, we had homeschool open house. This was a chance for Caleb and Elisabeth to show off all their schoolwork to their Grandparents and Aunt Laura. The kids proudly took the family upstairs to our schoolroom and showed off all their hard work. It was so cute!

We also celebrated Caleb and Elisabeth's half birthday. We let them choose what kind of cake they wanted. Elisabeth chose a Queen Amidala cake and Caleb chose a Chewbacca cake. They have never seen Star Wars, but since our family has a lot of Star Wars fans, they know many of the characters.

We had so much fun celebrating Caleb and Elisabeth and spending time with our family.

MOSH

The kids absolutely love MOSH. I don't know what it is about the place. We can make our way through it in under an hour. Perhaps they love it so much because it is one of the few places they can run free and cause limited damage!

We also started a unit on instruments. This week Caleb and Elisabeth learned about symphonies, orchestras, conductors, and violins. I am keeping this unit simple. The kids will be learning what the instruments look like, sound like, and will color a picture of each instrument.
