A Few Favorites

Last week my sister and her boys were in town. The boys were playing baseball in the front yard of my parent's house. Caleb loves to play with the big boys. He got one of the bats and played and ran around the yard.

This is a picture of Elisabeth with her pink puppy. It is her favorite thing. My aunt, Janis, gave it to her and she has hardly put it down.

The other day we were at my brother, Randy's, house. Elisabeth did not bring her pink puppy so she got attached to a brown teddy bear that was her cousins. When it was time to leave she cried when she had to leave the bear. A few days later her cousins called to say they were on their way over to bring her the teddy bear. Now she has two things that she loves.

Caleb loves to play with cups. The other day he had so much fun playing with a Moe's cup that I let him take a nap with it. Who needs toys when you have a cup?

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend Aunt Jan, Daniel, Paul, and Joel came for a visit. Uncle Rodney, Jacob, and Benjamin were at a baseball tournament and were not able to come. We had so much fun playing, shopping, eating, and swimming.

My precious, baby girl is finally saying, "Mama"!

These are a few pictures that I took yesterday morning . I love this picture of Elisabeth and Todd. In the picture of Caleb, he is playing with a yo-yo that Aunt Laura gave him. He played with it all morning.

Mama

My father-in-law sent me this cartoon because I think that it is based on my life. From the moment she was born Elisabeth has adored her Daddy and who could blame her. A few months ago she started to say "Dada". She talks about her Daddy all day long while he is at work. I have been trying to teach her to say "Mama", but everytime she just looks at me and says, "Dada". Last week she actually started saying, "Mama". I made a huge deal about it hoping that the postive reinforcement would encourage her to say it more. After I would praise her I would say, "Elisabeth, would you say mama again?", she would look at me and say, "Dada". What can I say, the girl loves her Daddy!

The Power of Two!

I knew that when I had twins that eventually they would figure out that while Todd is at work they out number me. I thought I had a couple of years but I realized today that they have already figured it out. I was trying to get Caleb and Elisabeth to go into their room so that I could fold their laundry. I picked Caleb up and carried him into their room and then went back to get Elisabeth. As soon as I put Elisabeth down, Caleb started laughing and ran out of the room. I chased after him and brought him back. Then, Elisabeth started laughing and ran out of the room. This continued about five or six more times as Caleb and Elisabeth were gleefully giggling the entire time. I was running after them, laughing, sweating, and thinking that my life as never been so busy or so much fun.

St. Augustine

Today we went to St. Augustine. We did some shopping at the outlet mall, had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, went to the fort, and played on the playground. We had a lot of fun and we were all very worn out when we got home.

Caleb was a little anxious for his bath and climbed in fully dressed. Fortunately, Todd was standing right there to make sure he did not fall and I was there to capture the moment on camera.

Playing at the Park

Tonight we took Caleb and Elisabeth to the park. Todd and I realized that our babies are growing up. They were walking around the park and playing. Their favorite thing at the park was the slide.

Mother's Day

These are a few pictures that we took on Mother's Day. I had a fun day with my sweet family. We started the day by going to the 8:00 service at church. Todd took me and the kids out for lunch. We finished the day by having dinner with both of our families.

I love being Todd's wife and Caleb and Elisabeth's mommy. God has been so good to me.

My arms and heart are full of blessings!

14 Months Old!

Caleb and Elisabeth are fourteen months old today. They are as cute and sweet as ever. They are walking all over the place and learning new words. Everyday is a new adventure.

Elisabeth is so funny. She is just so sweet and she has such a spunk for life. I am working on teaching the babies the animal sounds. She can make the sounds for a snake, dog and cow. She loves looking at books. Her favorite toy is her pink poodle that my aunt, Janis, gave her. She carries it around with her all of the time. Her favorite song is "Old McDonald Had A Farm". I sing a lot to the kids because there are so many songs about Jesus and the Bible that I want them to know. Often when I am singing a Bible song to them, Elisabeth will say, "E-i-e-i", which means she is requesting Old McDonald.

Caleb is all boy. He is so curious. He wants to know what is in every cabinet and ever drawer. The other day there was a lizard on the window of the playroom and Caleb was totally fascinated with watching it. He also loves planes. Anytime we are in the backyard and he hears one, he starts pointing to the sky. We went for a walk the other day, when a dog started barking at us. What did Caleb do? He started barking back! He is definitely the social one. When we go out he is the one that wants to high five or "chat" with everyone we see.

"No, no, no, no"

As you can imagine, with two small children toddling around the house and exploring their world I say, "No, no", a lot. Caleb and Elisabeth are catching on to what is a no, no and what is a yes. Caleb has started this new thing. He will stand next to a cabinet that he knows he is not suppose to open and say, "No, no". He also will pick something off the floor and instead of putting it in his mouth he will say, "No, no", and hand it to me.

Today I was starting some laundry. Caleb and Elisabeth were right there with me in the laundry room. I walked out of the room for just a second. When I came back Elisabeth was trying to push the dirty clothes basket out of the room and Caleb was walking toward her, shaking his finger, and telling her, "No, no, no, no". It was a priceless moment.

Lunch With Daddy

Today Caleb, Elisabeth, and I met Todd for lunch at Chick-fil-a. The babies loved getting to see Daddy in the middle of the day. They thought they were at a party. They got to play in the play area and one of the workers gave them balloons. When we got home they were worn out and ready for naptime.

Cousins

It is such a blessing that Caleb and Elisabeth have nine cousins on my side of the family. When I was pregnant I was excited that the babies would have so many cousins but I wondered if they would enjoy playing together. Their cousins range from five to thirteen years older than Caleb and Elisabeth and I was afraid the age difference would be too big. It never ceases to amaze me how much all the cousins love each other. The babies light up when they see their cousins. All of their cousins adore Caleb and Elisabeth and they are always in the center of attention.

These are a few pictures that I took the other day when Caleb and Elisabeth were playing with some of their cousins.

Playing at Grandma's

Every Thursday Caleb, Elisabeth, and I go over and have lunch and play with Todd's mom. This week I remembered to bring my camera and I got some cute pictures of the babies playing with Grandma's dog, Taylor, and Aunt Laura's new dog, Truett. We are trying to teach Caleb and Elisabeth how to be gentle with the dogs, but that it not the easiest concept to teach one year olds.

This is Elisabeth's favorite toy at Grandma's house. She carries it around most of the time we are at Grandma's.
