Art Strips

We've been doing so many fun projects with the kids, I wanted an interesting way to show them off. After a little brainstorming with Todd, we came up with this idea. We bought a couple of metal strips, some red spray paint, and magnetic clips. An hour of spraying, measuring and drilling later the wall in our school room has become a canvas to display the kid's art.

70 Degrees!

We took the kids to the park the other day. The 20 degree weather a few weeks ago has encouraged us to take advantage of every beautiful day we get this winter!

Review Week

Homeschool week 17 JKL

Last week, we reviewed letters J, K, and L. We did letter coloring sheets, played letter and number review games, and did lots of play dough. The weather was so cold that we also did some "wintery" crafts and, as you can tell, we did most of our activities in our warm pajamas. We made a snowman craft, a marshmallow snowman, a snowy painting, and a hot chocolate craft.

Ooops!

Elisabeth fell in the toilet today. One would expect her first words to be... "Gross!" or "I'm wet" or "Get me out of here!" Not our little one. With a combination of fear and frustration she yelled, "Don't flush me! Don't flush me!".

Our Freezing Weekend

There are icicles hanging from the fence across the street. They have been there for 3 days! I don't remember the last time icicles have hung around for this long. Mission accomplished Al Gore!

The cold weather kept us inside all weekend. We have a serious case of cabin fever. Todd and Caleb came up with a few "games" to fight off the boredom.

We painted our dining room! It is now the only room in the entire house that has color.

I'm Still Reading!

IMG_1045

Our sweet little girl is growing up so quickly. Just the other day, I called for her to come upstairs for her bath. Her reply... "Daddy, I no can come upstairs... I'm still reading!" Still reading, hmmm, what is capturing her attention so completely? I head downstair to round her up, trying to guess what has my baby girl totally engrossed. Maybe it's her ABC's book... no... her princess book... no that's not it... Ahh! Her Bible, yes it must be her Bible... Wrong! I round the corner to find her cuddled up in her pink chair with... the latest edition of the Pottery Barn Kids catalogue.
