Letter V

Last week we worked on the letter Vv. I had a hard time coming up with Vv activities, but here are the activities from the week.

A few months ago the kids discovered a dead toad in a service hole for our sprinkler system. The kids have been fascinated with him and ask to see him at least once a week. Well, last Sunday, they asked to see him again. I was a little hesitant, but said okay. When they pulled the cover off the hole, Caleb shrieked "He's alive!!!" I ran over there and sure enough, there was a live toad in the hole. The dead one had vanished. Elisabeth began to dance and sing "He's not dead. He's alive just like Jesus!"
A week has gone by and remarkably the toad is still alive. He has been loved, squeezed, and dropped more than any creature should be. Caleb has taken his responsibility very seriously. Today we decided to buy some crickets for "Froggy". Froggy was very appreciative. He may decide this whole pet thing is not such a bad deal after all.
